Mengwi is home to the historic Royal Temple, Pura Taman Ayun, which is our first site on today’s journey. Built in the 1632-1634 , the temple is the family temple of the Mengwi dynasty, whose dominion lasted until the late 1800s. The next site is the Secret Monkey Temple Alas Kedaton, a megalithic temple in Bali.
On the route back to the hotel, a detour is made at Tanah Lot, a spectacular temple situated on a massive rock that lays just off the coast. Tanah Lot, Bali’s most photographed temple, has been playing an essential role in Balinese mythology for millennia.
